We are recognised worldwide for our pioneering works in new metal-based alloys for which corrosion is stimulated, and monitored, thus resulting in new innovative applications for vascular, orthopedic, dental and pediatric applications. We work in close collaboration with academies, industries and policy-maker worldwide. With Dr Frank Witte, Hannover Medical School, we founded the annual BIOMETAL meeting in 2009. We work on experimental modeling of physiological corrosion undergoing in bodies, as well as on the designing of new processes leading to suitable corrosion. In parallel, we envisage and develop new tests for the assessment of the toxicity and the biological response of such degradable biometals.
